Private AI Journaling: Know Where Your Words Go
Understand recording, transcription, storage, export, and optional feedback before you put personal thoughts into an AI journal.
Follow one entry from microphone to review
Privacy is easier to assess when you follow a single entry. Where is the audio saved? Where does speech become text? Where does the AI make its suggestions? What happens when you export the result or ask for support?
For LugaLog, core recording, transcription, search, and analysis happen on your device. Notes and reviews live on the device or in a folder you choose. An optional export or issue report has a different destination and should be considered separately.
Five questions before your first personal entry
- Processing: Does transcription require uploading audio? Does analysis send the transcript somewhere else?
- Storage: Is the working journal local, in a cloud account, or both?
- Setup: Which models need to be downloaded before offline processing works?
- Export: Is the selected folder local, shared, or synced by a provider?
- Support: Can a screenshot include the entry currently on screen?
These are separate questions. Local AI alone does not describe what happens to an exported file or a support attachment.
How LugaLog handles these choices
LugaLog requires no account and does not currently transmit product analytics or usage events. Selected models are downloaded during setup, and core processing then runs on your iPhone. You can choose a local export folder or an iCloud folder you control.
Report an Issue sends information only after you review the form and tap Send. Every report includes your message and app/device metadata. Optional screenshots may show visible note text; optional diagnostics contain app state and failure details. Turn either off before sending if you do not want to include them. The privacy policy explains report contents and retention.
A practical routine for private reflection
Choose a place where speaking feels comfortable, or type if other people can hear you. Use your own perspective when describing a conversation. Before sharing an exported entry, read it for names and details you intended to keep to yourself.
If you use a shared folder, consider who can open it. Deleting an entry in an app and removing its exported copies are separate steps. LugaLog’s policy explains that removing the app does not remove files stored outside it.
Try the workflow with an ordinary note
Before recording something personal, capture a harmless sentence, find the transcript, and locate the export and issue-report controls. This lets you understand the workflow using your own device and settings.
Then try a short spoken log or a Brain Dump. LugaLog’s privacy philosophy is to give your thoughts a useful home while keeping these choices visible.
